About Us

We’re Kailysia and Kaila Beckwith and attend Richland Elementary School in Memphis, TN.  The idea for a Malia and Sasha Fan Club began November 22, 2008, at grandmother’s house.  In order to end our loud chatter circulating through the house, grandmother gave us a project to complete.  She asked us to write a letter to President Obama as many other children had done.  We wanted to congratulate President Obama, but we really wanted to know more about Malia and Sasha, the president’s daughters.  Grandmother encouraged us to do some research on the girls. 

After researching and finding bits and pieces of information, we were happy to get just what we needed and wanted to share the information with other children.  Grandmother suggested that we start our own fan club, and this is what we decided to do.  We published our first post that same evening, and thus created the Malia and Sasha Fan Club weblog.

The mission of the fan club is to Make good choices, Serve and learn, be Friendly and fair, and be Courteous and respectful.   We’re inspired by Malia and Sasha and our dreams are for everyone to know about the fan club, and maybe one day we might meet Malia and Sasha.  We’re delighted to say that one of our dreams has become reality with over 8,300 visitors to the weblog since November, 2008.

We hope you like the fan club lyrics we wrote and were put to music created by our dad.  Be sure to sing the MSFC song every day as we do, and don’t forget to play the games we chose for our site.

Our favorite charity is StandUp For Kids, and by purchasing merchandise from our online shop, you will help kids who are homeless and may need food to eat.
