The coolest kids in America are Malia and Sasha Obama! They are our inspiration and the reason we created the Malia and Sasha Fan Club weblog. They are the 1st African-American kids to live in the White House. We will be featuring other cool kids on this page. You can always nominate a cool kid by emailing us on our weblog.

Deidra Shores

Deidra is so cool. She was selected from more than 40,000 kids who submitted entries to the "Kid Reporter" contest. Deidra's original submission was about Where in the World is Matt Lauer.

Deidra will begin her Today Show "Kid Reporter" career on Monday, November 16, while on a 6-day cruise on Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship, The trip is one of several prizes she received as the winner of the contest.

What is really exciting about Deidre is that she is a Memphis City School student like we are. Deidre won the day we had to do our school projects. We sure hope she will get a chance to interview Malia and Sasha.
