WHY IS SCHOOL COOL?
Read what a college graduate said:
When I was in school I knew that I was learning facts from my teacher and from my books. Little did I realize that I was getting so much more than that. It was only after I graduated from college did I realize how important my education was.
In school I learned to be punctual. That being early was a necessity. The punishment was not that harsh, not as harsh when I was late for work. I would not only get a creepy stare from my boss but also from my office mates. It was not as harsh as a disgruntled client who would not deal with someone who would come five minutes late. That is harsh but that is reality.
In school I learned to interact with a wide array of classmates. From the studious to the bums. From the rich to the poor. I learned to deal with some nagging teachers. The kind of people I met at school were the very same type of people I meet at work. Boss. Client. Subordinates. School taught me to mingle with them. To tolerate their moods and anticipate their personalities. To bond with them.
Only after I got my diploma did I realize that going to work was like going to school. Like a game of Counter-Strike. You get the feel of real battle. That is the value of schooling. It simulates the challenges of real life without the harsh consequences.
We go through 16 years of education, probably the most exciting years of our lives. It is only natural that we sometimes feel bored. That we feel that there are more exciting things to do than study. But that is the true test of education. The true lesson of life. The fact that we can overcome these obstacles and be able to do what we are supposed to do. And if you make it through this test, you are sure to pass the greater challenges of life.
Yes! School is Cool!
